The foundation
Connecting education, health and society
We were founded to connect health training and research with education and social services. Our founding purposes place people, families and their communities at the centre of care.
People and families
A biopsychosocial approach to long-term conditions, with particular consideration for families and disadvantaged groups.
Technology with purpose
New technologies applied to education and health-related social services.

EU-WISE
The foundation participated in this European project on self-care support for people with long-term conditions, diabetes and heart disease. The project adopted a whole-system approach.
Funded by the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme and coordinated by the University of Southampton, EU-WISE brought together universities and organisations from several countries.
The final report lists the foundation as a project partner and Manuel Serrano Gil as its president (p. 65). It also documents the regional workshop organised in Murcia in October 2015 (p. 59).
